The ACC competition team is EUROAVIA Patras' largest project, as it requires the most expertise, organization, manpower, and resources. The M.ACH team, which brought the Air Cargo Challenge back to Patras after three years of hard work, represented EUROAVIA Patras in the summer of 2024 in Aachen, securing 13th place (out of 30). This success energized and motivated the team with a view to the ACC 2026, which will be held in Stuttgart, Germany. In this context, with the new consortium between EUROAVIA Patras and the Department of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering, the team, now named UPAT Atlas - M.ACH, aims to build on the previous success and reach even higher.
The Airplane Project serves as an "academy" of aeronautics. It is an introductory project with the primary goal of teaching and introducing team members to the concepts and theories of aeronautics, aerodynamics, and all the related fields necessary for designing and building an aircraft. Following the theoretical study of aircraft construction, the team moves on to the practical aspect, starting to design its own small-scale aircraft model.
EUROAVIA Patras is not just about making plane models. Focusing on Aerospace in general, our aim is also to provide knowledge on rocketry and space. Similarly to the Airplane Project, the team gets introduced to the basics of rocketry and how a rocket can sustain a stable and successful flight. The Project’s aim is for the team to design a small-scale rocket and to accomplish a safe flight!
The “Space Mics” Podcast is one of EUROAVIA's most unique projects, as the Patras branch is currently the only Local Group to have created something like this. The idea for the podcast began in 2020 during the long period of COVID-19 and lockdowns, as a means for members to convey their vision and spread their ideas. Four years later, the vision and goals of the podcast remain the same and have become even more ambitious: to promote the organization by hosting interviews with distinguished individuals from the fields of aerospace, engineering, and innovation, and sharing them with the world. At the same time, the podcast seeks to communicate EUROAVIA’s activities, achievements, and overall mission to a wider audience through internal interviews.
